A community visit involves our clinicians meeting you at a public location—such as a local park, public swimming pool, or community centre—rather than at a clinic or your home. This allows us to help you build the confidence and physical skills required to navigate and utilise the facilities in your own neighbourhood.
We can meet you at almost any easy-to-reach public spot. Most people choose a local pool for water exercises, a nearby park to practice walking and balance, or even a shopping centre if you want to work on your energy and movement during your normal weekly errands.
This service is designed for anyone looking to increase their independence and community participation. It is beneficial for NDIS participants working on community access goals, seniors who want to feel safer walking in public, or individuals transitioning from clinical rehabilitation back to an active lifestyle.
Our clinics provide a comprehensive resource base, equipped with clinical diagnostic tools and advanced machines designed for complex conditions. However, community visits are a vital practical step; they allow you to apply the skills you gain in the clinic to real-world settings, such as uneven footpaths or public stairs.
If a session takes place at a public facility that charges an entry fee (such as a local pool), the participant is generally responsible for their own entry fee. For NDIS and Aged Care participants, these costs are often covered by your plan under “community participation” categories. Our team can help clarify this for you.
Community visits are frequently funded through NDIS (under Capacity Building) or Home Care Packages (HCP). This is an effective way to utilise your funding to improve your physical health while reconnecting with your local community.
We typically recommend an Initial Assessment at one of our clinics first. This allows us to utilise our clinical equipment to measure your current physical capacity and safety levels accurately. Once a plan is established, we can schedule sessions at your local park or pool to put those goals into action.
Whether you’re dealing with pain, mobility issues, falls, or recovery, let us take the guesswork out. One of our experts will match you with the right service — at the right location and with the right funding — in under 10 minutes.
