Multiple Sclerosis (MS) is a chronic neurological condition that affects the central nervous system, leading to a range of symptoms such as muscle weakness, fatigue, balance difficulties, and coordination issues.
At Healthstin, we provide evidence-based Multiple Sclerosis treatments designed to help manage symptoms, improve function, and enhance overall quality of life. The severity and progression of MS can vary widely, but early intervention and targeted exercise therapy can help individuals maintain their independence and wellbeing.
At Healthstin, we are committed to helping individuals with Multiple Sclerosis access specialised, evidence-based therapies to manage symptoms and improve their quality of life. Whether you are looking for comprehensive multiple sclerosis treatment or simply need support in maintaining mobility and strength, our Allied Health Team is here to
assist you every step of the way.
Physical activity is a vital part of NDIS multiple sclerosis support, helping to maintain and build muscle strength and stamina for everyday tasks.
Targeted stretching and mobility exercises help decrease muscle tightness and joint stiffness, improving comfort and ease of movement.
Therapeutic exercises promote better control over body movements, supporting stability and reducing the risk of falls.
Regular physical therapy encourages functional movement, helping individuals maintain their ability to walk, transfer, and carry out daily routines with greater autonomy.
Exercise releases endorphins and combats fatigue, improving mood and increasing energy levels to enhance overall quality of life.
Helps counteract muscle weakness and fatigue by improving overall muscle tone, mobility, and stability.
Promotes joint range of motion and reduces spasticity, stiffness, and discomfort commonly experienced with MS.
Involves stability exercises, core strengthening, and proprioception drills to reduce fall risk and improve functional safety.
Gentle walking, cycling, or aquatic cardio can improve endurance, heart health, and energy levels without overexerting.
Supports gentle, low-impact movement; relieves joint stress; and helps manage symptoms like spasticity and fatigue in a temperature-regulated environment.
Targets the nervous system through repetitive, task-specific movements to maintain independence in daily tasks and delay progression of mobility challenges.
Exercise is recognised as a key part of MS management. Our Exercise Physiologists design programmes that focus on neuroplasticity—supporting the ways your brain and body communicate. We target balance, core stability, and muscle strength to help manage symptoms such as foot drop, spasticity, and muscle weakness.
While it may seem counterintuitive, supervised exercise can help manage long-term fatigue. We use a “pacing” strategy to build cardiovascular endurance without overexerting. This helps increase your “energy envelope,” providing more stamina for your daily activities.
Hydrotherapy is highly effective for MS because the water provides a supportive and cooling environment. Since many people with MS are sensitive to heat, our climate-controlled pools allow you to exercise without the risk of overheating. The buoyancy also helps you practice walking and balance exercises safely.
We prioritise safety. During a relapse or flare-up, we typically pivot your programme to focus on gentle range-of-motion, stretching, and energy conservation. Once the flare-up subsides, we gradually transition back to your strength and conditioning goals. Your clinician monitors your symptoms to adjust the intensity of every session.
MS is a qualifying condition for the NDIS (under Capacity Building) and is supported through Home Care Packages (HCP) and the CHSP. We also accept private health insurance. We provide the clinical reporting required to show how exercise supports your independence.
We offer both. Our clinics are recommended for accessing clinical strength equipment and Hydrotherapy pools, which are utilised for managing complex mobility issues. However, if you are experiencing high fatigue or transport difficulties, our Home Visit and Telehealth options support your continuity of care.
We use objective clinical testing to track your baseline. We regularly check things like how fast you can walk, how steady you are on your feet, and your overall strength for daily tasks. These measurements help us see exactly how you’re improving so we can update your program as your needs change, keeping you healthy for the long run.
Whether you’re dealing with pain, mobility issues, falls, or recovery, let us take the guesswork out. One of our experts will match you with the right service — at the right location and with the right funding — in under 10 minutes.
