Exercising in a hydrotherapy environment has been proven to be effective in relieving pain, increasing movement and enhancing flexibility.
Hydrotherapy refers to the use of warm water for exercise, rehabilitation, restoration, and relaxation.
For some, it is the ability to perform movements that they wouldn’t otherwise be able to perform in a land-based setting due to elevated pain levels or reduced mobility.
Our Accredited Exercise Physiologists specialize in delivering individualised exercise programs in a hydrotherapy pool for individuals with a range of chronic conditions, injuries, illnesses and disabilities.
Sessions in a hydrotherapy pool can be one-on-one or in a group. We tend to focus on using the benefits of the buoyancy of the water to help improve balance, increase range of motion, reduce pain and build strength.
At Healthstin, we provide professional hydrotherapy services across multiple locations in Australia, helping individuals improve mobility, manage pain, recover from injury, and enhance overall wellbeing through tailored aquatic exercise programs.

I’ve been involved with Healthstin for approx 8 months now. I am very impressed with everybody I have worked with over that period. Many years ago, I swore I would never enter a gym again. I was wrong! All the exercise physiologists are eager and extremely knowledgeable, very helpful. They have quickly assessed my capabilities and present me with exercises and routines that are both fun and challenging, and really make a difference to my general health and wellbeing. My balance has improved, but I can also feel my body strength improving, and I have a lot more energy. It’s obvious the staff all enjoy what they do. I’m convinced they are the best in the business.Posted on Google![]()

The Exercise Physiologists at Healthstin have been wonderful in helping with my knee replacement physio. I attend the group sessions, however as the classes are not huge, you still receive one on one help. The staff are very friendly and easy going. I always enjoy my time in the pool doing my exercises.Posted on Google![]()

Hydrotherapy uses warm water and guided exercises to help ease movement and feel less pain. The water supports your body. It makes it easier to move and exercise without stressing your joints.
Hydrotherapy lets you move with less strain on your joints. Warm water helps relax tight muscles, and the gentle push of the water helps you build strength and move more easily.
Hydrotherapy can help people with injuries, disabilities, chronic pain, arthritis, neurological conditions, or movement challenges. It is also useful if you find it hard to exercise on land due to pain or limited mobility.
During a Hydrotherapy session, you’ll do guided exercises in a warm pool. Your therapist will teach you movements to improve strength, balance, and flexibility, ensuring you feel safe and comfortable.
The NDIS may cover Hydrotherapy if it relates to your disability and supports your plan goals. It’s often included under Capacity Building supports to help with mobility, strength, and daily activities.
You don’t need to know how to swim for Hydrotherapy. The exercises are safe and usually done in waist- or chest-deep water with a professional there to help.
Bring swimwear, a towel, and comfortable clothes to change into after your session. It can also help to bring water, pool shoes, and any items that help you feel comfortable during your visit.
Hydrotherapy is usually safe for people with injuries or health conditions. A trained professional will guide the exercises and adjust them to fit your needs and comfort.
Hydrotherapy is led by a health professional and includes exercises designed for your condition. Swimming is something people do on their own for fitness or leisure.
